About the Drawing:
‘Detach’ is a light reactive drawing which can be viewed in natural white light or as a mesmerising piece that moves and changes under RGB lights.
The story behind this piece relates to the idea of returning to the collective subconscious. I often feel part of something that I can’t full comprehend – and I strongly believe that this is where a lot of my ideas come from, and where creativity is sparked. This drawing in particular is about detaching from the world as we know it, to go deeper and explore different experiences.
‘Detach’ is unique because it can also be viewed in reverse, to get a different sense of the meaning. When you change the order of the coloured lights to blue, green and then red, the hands reach up, as if to grasp back onto reality.
